2003-01-05 22:50 UTC Another weekend
Friday: Kamakaze, Xiven and GwieF (in reverse chronological order) arrive and we go to see The Two Towers. A great episode — I'm certainly enjoying this series more than I did the book. I noticed the two horse riding kids were credited as "Cute Rohan Refugee Children", which I thought was quite amusing.
We come back and watch the Stargate SG-1 episodes that have been sitting on my TiVo for the last month or so waiting for this day. (Of the four of us, I'm the only one who gets cable TV. Sigh. This country is so backwards.) Oh, yeah. These are the three episodes that haven't been shown in the US yet... Mwuhahahahahaha! Great episodes... this season is easily as good as if not better than the previous ones.
Saturday: What. On. Earth. Is. This. My "STARGATE" wishlist matches a new show: Stargate Infinity. Oh dear. What have they done. How can this be.
I am speechless for several long, shocked, minutes.
Time to learn how to permanently block things from my memory.
Thankfully, apparently this series is officially not cannon, so we don't have to worry about them totally screwing up the fragile but currently surprisingly consistent plot.
Later, we go to see Nemesis along with Cosmo and Chiara. (Hey! Good use of subdomains from a movie company! Very encouraging.) Great music during the end credits. I was very impressed by the way the third writer (in credit order) managed to write himself out of the plot and back into the plot in the same film, although as usual this film has a bunch of flaws (the aforementioned writing-out-of-the-plot of one of the characters, for example: why didn't he just turn it off???). After that, Xiven completed two of my Vice City missions for me (this is probably the best game I've ever seen, from a gameplay point of view).
Sunday: GwieF earns some thousands of dollars as a fire fighter (Vice City is addictive) while I reel from the shock of seeing the start of Episode 2 of... no, I can't bring myself to say it. Deary me. What. Did. They. Do.
Maybe I should watch those episodes again and form a new opinion.
